About me

Kris Hollingsworth is a mathematician, assistant professor, and coffee enthusiast based out of Minnesota State University, Mankato. Their scholarship includes abstract harmonic analysis and frame theory for representations of high-dimensional data. In the classroom, Dr. Hollingsworth encourages students to discover ideas themselves through interactive course-notes with digital manipulatives and real-time feedback they design using DoenetML. They have also taught and organized outreach through programs like MathPath and MathHappens, as well as hosting hands-on interactive mathematics at local K-12 schools’ family nights.

This site is currently under construction as I organize more materials and information, and continue to develop the Jekyll theme it runs from. In the meantime, visit my GitHub profile to see some of the things I’m currently working on, or even branch one to contribute!

  • Documenting tools for creating accessible (mathematics) documents.
  • Authoring interactive course notes and other class resources through the obsidian-markdown plugin I wrote (currently in beta).
  • Or visit my teaching page to see what classed I’ve taught and see some of my teaching materials, including samples of my interactive lecture notes (coming soon!)
